One of my colleagues is winding me up.........
@ Thursday, Mar. 29, 2007 – 13:21:00
You would think the scowling face and death stare would alert my colleagues to the fact that I am in a bad bad black mood today. Perhaps they see this as a 'red rag to a bull' because one of them, who shall remain nameless, would appear to be trying to make my day even worse than it was by 8.22am this morning (when I awoke to the sounds of my cat flicking and dumping earth from my pot plant onto the floor)by ranting incessantly about how he can't get his email to work and would I please sort it out (answer: no, not my job).
Apart from the earth flicking, I have also spilt water on myself, on the floor and splashed some on an unknown colleague, I have almost choked on a piece of dill on my tuna sandwich and I have been told that I am not eligible for the share scheme in work until next year!
SOMEBODY GIVE ME A BREAK!

The Primark Effect
@ Tuesday, Mar. 27, 2007 – 13:27:49
Its official. That addiction forming 'Primark effect' (where spending more than £10 on an entire new wardrobe seems nothing short of frivilous) has stretched out into other parts of my life.
I went car shopping last Saturday and afterwards was taken to Tesco by my parents instead of the usual Asda at the foot of my road. And worryingly I was scandalised by anything over £2....Tesco's vegetables are very expensive! Except they are not, its just that the confines of Dunfermline only provide shopping experiences such as Primark and Asda so suddenly everything else seems like you are paying through the nose. I left £12.38 lighter but feeling like I was about 2 shopping bags short of a full picnic

So I ask, is this Primark effect a good thing or a bane on our existence? Being a former 'liberal spender' (ie. shopaholic), I find that my former self still screams to get out and in the worst possible way. So now, I will happily be going along budgetting my way through the month when out of nowhere I will find myself in Harvey Nicks clutching a very expensive bag and drawing myself dangerously near to a till point. Which is WAY worse than my normal month to month pre-Primark spending!
Footnote: Primark, I love you. Please pay no heed to my rant and never close.

New time zone, new blog
@ Sunday, Mar. 25, 2007 – 10:25:31
Today is my first day blogging. It comes on the back of waking up on a grey Sunday morning and realising I was already an hour further into my day than had hoped due to forgetting about the clocks going forward at some indeterminate time last night (it should be noted that I tend to forget about the clock changes every time or take them with a large pinch of salt as my mum went though a phase of always telling me they were due to change a week early!)
Anyway, I digress

This is my first blog so please bear with me as I get more used to the format and more proficient at adding photos and the like to make it more interesting!
Most of my blogs will likely follow the weekly happenings of a slightly jaded 31 year old, 12 years into a job I went into as a year out after dropping out of Uni and never left! (I have moved from company to company to similarly unsatisfying roles that very much mirror the previous one I was wishing to escape!)
But obviously this year will be different and I will
a) win the lottery and uproot to some as yet undecided far flung destination
b) change career (more in later blogs!)
c) reach 31 December and realise another year has just gone by!Anyway, it is now 11am which should actually be 10am if I had my way and my cat is moaning her face off about something that is upsetting her greatly. Not speaking 'cat', I now have to go and decipher exactly what her problem is!
So for today, adios, have a good one and hopefully see you back here soon!
